Gastroenterology & Endoscopy Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Endoscopy Unit provides all diagnostic and treatment services related to endoscopy of the digestive and biliary system.

The following services are available in the Department:

• Diagnostic upper and lower endoscopy

• Treating gastrointestinal and anal bleedings using the most updated techniques.

• Endoscopic band ligation of esophageal varices and injection of gastric and ectopic varices.

• Removal of gastrointestinal polyps and tumors.

• Foreign bodies extraction from the digestive system.

• Endoscopic insertion of gastric feeding tube.

• Balloon dilation of the narrowed esophagus.

• Stents insertion in the esophagus and duodenum.

• Endoscopic treatment of anal hemorrhoids without surgery.

• Diagnosis and treatment of biliary obstruction (benign or malignant).

• Stone extractions from biliary system in calculary obstructions.

• Dilatations of biliary stricture and insertions of plastic and metallic stent.
